Hailing from the South, Tonya made the heartfelt decision to make Kansas her home. With over a decade of experience as Chief Deputy, Tonya assumed the position of Register of Deeds in 2016.

In her capacity as Register of Deeds, Tonya upholds a steadfast commitment to exemplary customer service, transparency, and ensuring seamless access to the Sedgwick County Register of Deeds office. She remains dedicated to spearheading continuous enhancements in services for the residents of Sedgwick County.

Demonstrating her devotion to the community, Tonya has held numerous leadership positions within the Kansas Register of Deeds Association. Additionally, she has actively contributed to the Sedgwick County Republican Party, presently serving as Treasurer. Tonya’s engagement extends to her volunteer work with the Sedgwick County Black Republican Council.

Tonya’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Alabama Christian College and a MiniMPA certificate from Wichita State University. She has also earned certification as a Register of Deeds from Kansas State University. A member of the Kansas Association of Counties and PRIA, Tonya is a distinguished graduate of the Eisenhower series, class of 2013.
